Bitumen is widely used as a binder in road construction and is available in different grades and viscosities, including VG 10 Bitumen, VG 30 Bitumen, and VG 40 Bitumen.

VG 10 Bitumen

This is a grade of bitumen that is characterized by its low viscosity and is typically used for applications such as road construction and waterproofing. VG 10 Bitumen has a penetration grade of 10 and is considered to be a relatively soft grade of bitumen. VG 20 bitumen

It is widely used as a binder in asphalt concrete for road construction and maintenance, as well as in waterproofing applications. VG 20 bitumen is a viscosity grade bitumen, specifically VG 20, which is a measure of the resistance of bitumen to flow at a specified temperature, typically 60°C or 135°C. Viscosity is expressed in units of poise (P), a measure of dynamic viscosity. VG 20 bitumen has a viscosity value of 20 poise, meaning it has a moderate resistance to flow.The properties of VG 20 bitumen make it suitable for use in moderate-temperature climates and in areas with moderate traffic.

 

 

 

VG 30 Bitumen

This is a grade of bitumen that is characterized by its higher viscosity compared to VG 10 Bitumen. This higher viscosity provides greater stability and durability, making it ideal for use in more demanding applications such as heavy-duty road construction and industrial waterproofing. VG 30 Bitumen has a penetration grade of 30, making it harder than VG 10 Bitumen and providing a more stable and durable surface.

VG 40 Bitumen

This is a grade of bitumen that is characterized by its highest viscosity and hardness compared to VG 10 Bitumen and VG 30 Bitumen. VG 40 Bitumen has a penetration grade of 40 and is typically used for the construction of airport runways, industrial floors, and other high-stress applications. This grade of bitumen provides an extremely durable surface that can withstand heavy loads and high temperatures, making it ideal for use in demanding environments.

Application of Viscosity Grade Bitumen
